Appointment Scheduling
Regular Appointments
Visa applications are accepted by appointment only and must be scheduled no more than three months prior to the projected date of travel. Appointments usually can be scheduled within two to three weeks, though waiting time will be longer during summer and holiday periods.

Expedited Appointment Scheduling
Student Visa Applicants
To ensure prompt handling, prospective student visa applicants are asked to request an appointment by email. An appointment request email should be addressed to Consular.Brazzaville@state.gov and include copies (scans) of: (1) their I-20(s), (2) an acceptance letter, and (3) a contact telephone number. Prospective students should send their request at as soon as they have their documents. The consular section will email them back with an appointment date and any further instructions.
Urgent Business Travel
Normally, business travelers should use the normal appointment request procedures to secure a visa appointment. However, in the event of the need for unexpected or urgent business travel to the U.S., the traveler should email the Consular Section at Consular.Brazzaville@state.gov to request an “expedited appointment.” In addition to providing required traveler information (name, phone contact information, and dates of travel), the traveler must also present specific information and clearly document the urgent nature of business travel. This information is required before an expedited interview can be scheduled. If the urgent nature of the travel is not established, the Consular Section will offer the traveler the next available normal appointment date, which the traveler may accept or decline.
Family Bereavement Travel
To request an expedited visa appointment due to family bereavement, two immediate family members (wife, husband or children) may an expedited visa appointment. Before an expedited interview can be scheduled, family members will need to present: (1) death certificate in the case of a death, (2) a letter from both the treating physician and the hospital in the case of terminal illness, or (3) police report and letters from physicians and hospital in the case of traumatic injury.
Official Travel
Non-immigrant visas are also required for official government or recognized international organization employees (such as the United Nations, World Bank, International Monetary Fund) who are traveling to the Unites States for meetings or to work at foreign missions or at the recognized international organization.
