American Citizen Services

Special Consular Operations for Republic of Congo

Please note that at this time there is no American consulate in the Republic of Congo.  In practice, this means that most American citizen service requests (for example, registrations, passport renewals and consular reports of a birth abroad) can be initiated at our interim offices in Brazzaville but still must be processed at the Consulate at the American Embassy in Kinshasa.

How to Contact the Consular Section in Brazzaville

The Consular Section can be reached at (242) 81-14-81 during business hours (8:00 – 4:00) on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays for scheduling of appointments for non-emergency services.  You may also email questions or requests for services to Consular.Brazzaville@state.gov.  The same number can be used after hours for emergencies and our switchboard will take your name, a message and a contact number that will then be forwarded to the Duty Officer to respond.  Please program this number into your phone.

How the Consular Section Contacts You

Both informational and emergency messages are sent to Americans living in ROC through the warden cascade system.  Messages are sent via email, radio and as needed by text messaging (SMS).  You will not receive messages if you are not registered.
