Visa Services

Eligibility

U.S. immigration and naturalization laws presume that each visitor visa applicant is an intending immigrant. It is up to the applicant to overcome this presumption by presenting evidence of strong ties to his or her country of residence that would compel him or her to return at the end of the visit to the United States. Compelling financial, familial and social ties are generally required to overcome this burden.

While it is helpful to know that the applicant has contacts or family members in the United States, the applicant themselves must demonstrate the strength of their own ties here in the Republic of Congo.  For more information about the U.S. Immigration Law, please consult http://travel.state.gov.

If an applicant has been found ineligible for a visa, they will have been given a letter that explains the reason why they were ineligible. More information about visa Denials can be found on the internet site http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/denials_136.html
